Older photos – part 2
Next up we have my partial attempt at Sculptures by the Sea at Bondi Beach, partial in the fact that I only got half way before having to leave to head to dinner. Definitely need to make more of an effort to go, more than once preferably as it's one of those events that is always so much fun (photographically). So much choice of subject and in varying environment makes it a challenge to capture something different.
Would love some comments on this photo, bit of an experiment with the composition and the post (and funnily enough, not even a sculpture itself!)
Below is my take on Sculptures by the Sea 2011.
So the reason the photos from above were cut short was the need to attend Steve's and Janet's birthday at Hurricanes in Darling Harbour. Photos from the night below, nothing too fancy seeing as I only had my 35mm f/2 and no flash with me (I've been pretty lazy these days).
two two with little lily
So thanks to everyone who made the night so (un)memorable, I had a great time from the bits that I do remember and so glad to have had so much awesome company to celebrate with. Hope to have another one next year and hopefully see you all there again!
Many thanks to Jimmy Lam who took these photos
Few more birthdays
So as you can see I've finally gone through some more photos and these should be the last of the birthdays I've been to where I've had my camera with me. The first is a small album from Ben, Carmen and David Huynh's birthday, not quite as entertaining as the year before, but it was just a nice cake cutting at Carmen's place followed by dinner at Wagaya.
Next up was a dinner and karaoke night at Mizuya in the city, fun night out and in terms of photography, I've experimented a fair bit with these photos trying out various different looks (either low saturation, high contrast B&W or playing with split toning). Any thoughts and opinions would be great.
Particularly fond of this shot though, just like the way the light from Kim's phone shines on her and makes her stand out.
My 21st B’day party with friends
Photos from my 21st b'day, thanks everyone who came and made it an awesome night, from the photos it looks like I had a great time, but I don't quite remember much from 11pm onwards. Hope you all had a blast

Kevin’s 21st Cruise
Just a gentle cruise across the harbour to celebrate Kevin's turning of age. Great weather and good times, hope you find yourself that perfect Bollywood girl

Steven Lee’s wet ‘n’ wild 21st
So Steven Lee had a wet 'n' wild party in the backyard of his Aunty's house on Saturday the 20th of Feb and with a beer keg and vodka slushies, what more could you want? Photos below
Kim’s 21st Circus
So last friday Kim had her 21st with an awesome Circus/Lady Gaga kinda theme and it was quite a fun night, plenty of people, more than what I though her backyard could fit. Spit roast and BBQ, plenty of drinks, good company and some entertaining speeches made for a fun night out. Happy Birthday to Kim and hope she had a good time. Photos from the night are below:
Also had a go at recording the birthday speeches which proved to be quite amusing:
